From the Deputy Principal:
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we conclude another term here at Our Lady of Mercy, we are thrilled to share with our school community a summary of the wonderful achievements and memorable moments that have filled our school over the past two weeks.
Pippi Longstocking Extravaganza:
Our recent performance of ‘Pippi Longstocking - 100 Not out’ was nothing short of spectacular. The talent and enthusiasm displayed by our young actors, actresses, and backstage crew brought this beloved story to life, in a way that left the audience spellbound. A big round of applause to all involved. Congratulations to Tess Leguis who was awarded “Best Actress” and Charlotte Badcock for receiving an honourable mention. Our Grade 5/6 students also received a dance and movement award for their contemporary dance, 'Climate Change'.
Mercy Day Celebrations:
Mercy Day was a heartwarming celebration of compassion and service to others. Our students took part in various activities, including a Mass, rotational activities and a performance, “Frank’s Red Hat”, all of which reflected the true mercy spirit. It was a day filled with kindness and generosity.
The Mercy celebrations continued with students from Grade 5/6 visiting St Patrick’s, Latrobe for a liturgy, rotational activities and a hot chip lunch. Many students made great friendships on the day, especially with those attending St Brendan-Shaw College for 2024.
Footy Colours Day:
Show your colours day was celebrated today with a BBQ lunch and students wearing their favourite sports colours. It was great to see so many students participate and enjoy the day.
In closing, we want to wish all our students a safe and relaxing break. We hope you make the most of this time to rejuvenate and prepare for the exciting challenges that lie ahead in Term 4.
Thank you for your continued support within our school community. We look forward to another term of growth, learning, and success.
Warm regards,
Megan Badcock
