    Mercy Day Celebrations:

Feast of Our Lady of Mercy

On Wednesday we celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy and reflected on the work of Catherine McAuley, foundress of the Sisters of Mercy, and the group of sisters led by Sister Ursula Frayne in 1846 with the goal, among other things, of establishing the first Mercy school in Australia.

Ursula Frayne and the pioneering Sisters of Mercy are wonderful role models for our community as women of courage who were committed to their faith and lived the Mercy values of justice and compassion. The pioneering Sisters of Mercy and those that carried on their legacy, have created a lasting impact on our Australian community and made a difference in our world.

Celebrations included a whole school Mass commencing at 10:15 am, followed by rotational activities and ice cream from 11:30 - 1:00 and concluding with a performance from Meerkat Productions, "Frank's Red Hat".

Tomorrow our grade 5/6 students will be travelling to St Patrick's Catholic School, Latrobe to celebrate the Feast of Our Lady of Mercy and participate in rotational activities.

Let us pray that the example of Catherine McAuley, Ursula Frayne and the Sisters of Mercy following Jesus becomes a source of inspiration for all of us and that we, too, are “shining lamps, giving light to all around us.”

    Student Free Day:
