Parent Survey - Have You Received Your Parent Survey?

Insight SRC is conducting a survey on behalf of OLOM, and Catholic Education Tasmania. It is designed to assist schools in gaining an understanding of parents' perceptions of their children's experience of school.

Students from Yr 3-6 and staff have also completed a survey. The results will benefit everyone within the school by providing valuable information about the ways in which the school can use staff, student and parent input to plan programs and activities to improve your child's experience at school.

While your participation is voluntary, it is important to remember that the success of this important project is dependent on the involvement of all parents.

Login ID and Access Codes were sent home last Friday 24th March.

The online survey can be accessed until TOMORROW Friday 4th April 2025.

Open your web browser and type in the address: https://insightsrcsurveys.com.au/surveys/start.aspx

    • Type your login ID and access code at the prompt. Your Login ID and Access Code are in the letter that was sent home to parents last Friday.  The office will supply new codes if needed.
    • Click "Login"
    • Read the instructions and click on "Next" to commence the survey.

I appreciate your participation with this survey.

    Kind regards,

    Mary Bennett

    Welcome New Families:

We have many new families joining our school in 2025. Throughout the year, we’d like to introduce them to you so you can get to know them and help them settle into our school family.

    Meet the Connor family:

We moved to Deloraine from Tannum Sands in Queensland. Our boys are loving the school here and are making beautiful friends.

Highlights since moving to Tasmania have been adventuring as a family (walks such as the Alum Cliffs, fishing in the Meander River and riding bikes along the forest trail were a hit this past weekend). We're looking forward to continuing to explore the beautiful North of Tasmania.

    News from Kinder:

In Kinder, students have been enjoying learning about Easter and have been busy preparing gifts for their families.

To make one of the gifts, the students needed a pom-pom, so were taught how to make one using wool and a special winding tool called ‘pom-pom magic’.

They enjoyed winding the wool and watching the ‘magic’ happen when the wool was tied together and cut at the ends. They then turned their pom-pom into a cute Easter character.

This turned out to be a great activity to help develop fine motor skills and hand to eye coordination. It also teaches children about cause and effect.

If you would like a sneak peek of their pom-pom creations, we have them on display in the Kinder classroom. Otherwise, enjoy your cute Easter gift when it is sent home with students at the end of Term!

    NMPSSA Athletics Carnival:

On Friday, March 28, 17 talented students from Years 3-6 proudly represented Our Lady of Mercy at the Northern Midlands Interschool Athletics Carnival at St Leonards. Competing with determination and school spirit. Our students ran, threw, and jumped to the best of their abilities, achieving some fantastic results throughout the day!

Well done for representing our school with pride!

Relay For Life OLOM Staff Morning Tea:

Relay for Life OLOM staff morning tea was held on Wednesday, 26th March, and it was a big success! It’s amazing that the event not only brought people together to enjoy delicious food but also raised over $400 for such an important cause. Events like these really show the power of community support. Cancer Council is a cause close to our hearts.

    Well done to all involved.

    Kanangra Visit:

Everyone had a great time when some of our students visited the Kanangra residents. The afternoon kicked off with a friendly basketball and quoits competition between mixed teams of students and residents. This was followed by some fun with balloons and noodles.

The students were also fortunate to be invited to stay for afternoon tea in celebration of Seniors Week. Along with enjoying the tasty treats, it gave the children a chance to chat with the residents. The smiles captured in the photos say it all!
