From the Principal:
Yesterday was our day to celebrate all grandparents and those treasured people who play a special role in the lives of our children. What a wonderful gathering we had - too many for our small hall but what a wonderful atmosphere it created!
This special day acknowledges the hard work, commitment, faith and love that grandparents show in the lives of their grandchildren. You are all so valued and loved.
The students, led by the Junior Choir and the Grade 6’s led us in a lovely prayer service, for which we received many comments on how beautiful it was, how we as a Catholic school offer so much and how our grandparents look forward to this day each year. All our children were very excited and proud to welcome their grandparents into their classroom and share with them school activities and learning. Some of our students, I noticed, were ‘adopted’ by other grandparents. The children were blessed by the attention these grandparents gave to them. For those who did this naturally and with grace and generosity - you showed us why you are loved so much - thank you!
We were blessed with sunshine and a beautiful day which was just perfect. It allowed us all to bask in the afternoon sunshine, enjoy a cuppa and an afternoon tea of delicious treats.
We thank all staff for their support and extra work and look forward to our grandparents visiting our school again.
Thank you to all the grandparents who joined us for GRANDPARENTS' DAY this year.
Kind regards,
Mary Bennett
